INCENTIVE: The incentive for Dorian to live in such a place would be less hard than one would think since Dorian craves new experiences. He needs something to stop he him from being bored. Something rare and new to distract himself and the promise of a new world be just enough to peak his interest. While it might not last forever, the very promise of something new is enough bait to draw him in. Though, he does require that a certain painting be bought along with him.
FIT: Dorian might be from a different time and older time but Dorian is inherently a sexual creature and someone who thrives on the debauched, the dark and the forbidden. He's not about to judge anyone for any sexual hang-ups, so much as pass the absinthe and talk to them about it. Dorian wouldn't have any hard time adjusting to the new world, instead he'd find a place for himself and find the most interesting people to indulge a few old fashion parties with. Dorian thrives in the company of people. He did in his own life, and he would in Eudio.
CONSENT: While we see Dorian do a great many things in the entire series, up to and including murder people, have a few interesting...rather bloody sex as well as a few other rather dark adventures. When it comes to sex we always see him allow permission in terms of sex or failing that , allowing the other person to make the first move.

Dorian is technically immortal as his soul is trapped within the painting and while he doesn't age, it's the painting that does. The painting also seems to take any harm that comes to him, be it from bullet wound or knife cut. Dorian still feels some of the pain from those attacks but only briefly as he regenerates.
So really the painting is something he requires to bring with him. Also look at this ugly thing, who would want it anyway?
